Owner and Therapist
Who am I as a therapist?
As a therapist, I strongly value the relationship I am able to build with my clients that helps them grow to where they want to be. It is my deepest belief that healing and growth come from feeling safe, supported, and cared for within the therapy room, and I love being a part of that process with my clients. I provide this care through being curious, empathetic, challenging when I need to be, and with quite a bit of humor, because we’re all human after all!
I most enjoy working with pre-teens through adults, focusing on healing and processing trauma, difficult experiences, and relationship challenges. My passion for working with trauma, attachment, and relationships began through residential family therapy and in-home family therapy work. Being able to support children and families in their most vulnerable states has given me a great appreciation for how much our histories, families, relationships, and individual stories play an integral role in healing. I now love being able to provide this high level of care to my clients in an outpatient setting, helping them live their most fulfilling lives.
Through my extensive trainings in trauma and attachment informed therapies, I work hard to provide just the right mix of techniques for a client’s individual needs. Most importantly though, I approach every client with the mindset of “what happened to you?” rather than “what’s wrong with you?”, which provides the space for a client’s authentic story to be heard and appreciated - not to be blamed.
Who am I as a person?
As a person, I’m a goofy, nerdy animal lover. I have two cats, Ziggy and Bentley, and a family dog, Rosie (who I wish I could steal from my parents’ home). I grew up riding horses, and connecting with animals through nature has always given me great peace and joy. I’m unapologetically obsessed with Harry Potter, and love reading and consuming media that transports me to distant worlds full of magic and fantasy. Music plays a huge role in my life, which I use to understand and regulate my feelings, or just to sing very loudly in my car. I try my hardest to practice all the tough things I’ll ask of you by remaining committed to my own therapy journey.
